Acupuncture is an ancient healing method that uses micro-thin needles to restore energetic balance and health in mind, body and spirit. Acupuncture theory is based on the belief that there are channels of energy or meridians that flow in a specific order throughout the body.
When this energy, or “Chi,” is balanced and unblocked, the result is good health. But if the Chi is blocked or imbalanced, it leads to unwanted symptoms. By inserting needles at points along the meridians, points of pain or combination of points, optimal energy flow is restored and symptoms are relieved. I determine the appropriate points by examining the pulse and reading the tongue when needed and by asking the client questions about events, diet, and lifestyle that may be contributing to his or her problems.
- Pain—such as low back pain, knee pain, headaches, cramps, sports injuries
- And many other health issues
In addition, acupuncture has been shown to:
- Increase vitality and energy
- Reduce stress
- Strengthen and stabilize the immune system
- Create an increased sense of wellbeing
Acupuncture is becoming widely accepted in this country as people are experiencing its benefits—often after discovering that nothing else has helped.
